4 days Quilotoa/Cotopaxi province by car.

This 4 day tour will take you to all the highlights of the beautiful Cotopaxi Province. Indigenous markets, snowcapped vulcanoes and emerald green crater lakes, you can see it all in 4 days.

Day 1 Wednesday: today you will be picked up from Latacunga or Lasso to start your 4 day trip in the Cotopaxi Province. We start today with a visit to the Cotopaxi National Park. First we go for a short hike at Limpiopungo lake from we have a great view of the volcano. Then we go up to the parking lot at 4600m. From here we hike up to the refuge and looking back we can see the Ruminahui volcano in front of us. After reaching the refuge we can go higher up until the glaciers, but only if we still feel good! Our guide will explain about the volcano, it’s eruptions and the current situation. Around 15.00 we leave the park and go back to Latacunga. Tonight we will stay in Hostal Tiana. 

Day 2 Thursday: After breakfast we leave towards the indigenous market in Saquisilí. We have time to walk around, look at the local produce and at the animal market. After the market we drive towards the small village of Isinliví, where we can go for a hike and visit the wood working place.Tonight we stay in our cosy eco-friendly Hostal Llullu Llama.

Day 3 Friday: In the morning after enjoying our breakfast, we drive towards the village of Chugchilan. In the afternoon we go for a 3 hours horse-riding tour or we can visit the cheese factory and hike in the area. Tonight we will stay at Hostal Mama Hilda.

Day 4 Saturday: Today we first visit the local market in Zumbahua. Very traditional, full of colors, animals and local people. After the market we go back to the Quilotoa crater lake where we have time to hike and to enjoy our box lunch. The lake is famous for it’s changing colors of the water. If we have time in ther afternoon we make a short stop at the painters in Tigua before returning to Latacunga where we end our trip.

Price: $500,00 per person with a minimum of 2 people.
Included: all transport, English speaking guide, all meals from lunch on day 1 to lunch on day 4. 1 night in Hostal Tiana, 1 night in Hostal Llullu Llama, 1 night in Hostal Mama Hilda.
Not included: entrance fee to the Quilotoa reserve ($2,00), entrance fee Cotopaxi National Park ($2,00), drinks and tips.
