4 day trekking with Cotopaxi summit.

A beautiful trekking starting in the South of the Cotopaxi National Park and ending on the foot of the vulcano on the North Side. Due to the altitude and weather conditions this can be a very hard trekking, so be sure to be prepared and bring good rain protection, hiking boots, thermo clothing, and hats/scarfs etc to protect yourself from the cold weather.

Day 1: We leave Latacunga around 08.30am in the morning and drive to the South Side of the National Park to meet the horses that will carry our kitchen and camping equipment. We start our hike at 4000m and we walk for about 5 hours crossing the highlands going slowly up and down.

Day 2: Today we walk towards Laguna Santa Domingo, crossing the paramo. Again a day where you will be alone with nature and not meet many other tourists. We walk for about 6 hours, have lunch on the way and our tents will be waiting at the end of todays hike.

Day 3: Our last day of this three day trekking. Today we walk for about 2 hours towards the watersource manantiales. From here we go by car to the parking lot at 4650m to hike up to the hut at 4800m. This takes around 45 minutes.  Tonight we sleep in the hut and after dinner we go to bed early.

Day 4: This morning we leave the hut very early, around 01.00am. We slowly start to climb to the top where we should arrive at least at 08.00am. After reaching the top we go back to the hut and back down to Latacunga.

Price: $500,00 + $250,00 per person with a minimum of 2 people.
Included: transport, English speaking guide, all meals from lunch on day 1 to breakfast on day 4, pack horses for kitchen and camping equipment (if you like a horse for your own luggage, you can hire one for $25,00 per day), all camping equipment like tents, sleeping bags, mattresses.
Not included: entrance fee Cotopaxi National Park ($10,00), drinks and tips.
