In Ecuador you can only hike a few parts of the old inca road and this trek is one of them. The trail starts in the village of Achupallas, about one hour from Alausi. This trek can be combinated very well with the famous Devil’s nose trainride on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. If the weather is clear we can go up a bit higher than the camp to a view point from where we can see many of the surrounding snowcapped volcanoes.

Day 3: On the second day we will reach the highest point of our trek, the pass with 4400m. From here we will be going down into the valley, we  hike down for an hour and a half and then we can see the holy lake of the Cañaries, called Laguna Culebrillas and visit the inca ruins called Paradones. We will hike to the community San Jose de Culibrillas and camp close by. Today will we hike about 6 hours.
