5 day trekking Quilotoa

5 day Quilotoa Loop complete!

Day 1:
From Latacunga we pick you up in the morning to start your tour into this beautiful area. After about two hours drive we reach the Cerros Guinopana pass from were we have a great view of the whole area. We drive to the starting point of our hike and from here walk down in about 3 hours through highlands, and fields of the local people to reach Isinliví. We have a box lunch on the way. In Isinliví we spend the night in our cosy mountain hostel Llullu Llama.

Day 2: After a big  breakfast we leave into the direction of Chugchilan, the next village on our trip. It is about 5 hours walk and we take a box lunch for on the way. The hike will first go down, into the canyon and then back up the road, which we follow for 45 minutes to reach Chugchilan. Tonight we will spend the night at Mama Hilda´s hostel.

Day 3: Today we stay in Chugchilan and do a horseriding trip up to the Cloud Forest. With clear weather there are great views of the Andes sloping down towards the coast. In the afternoon you can hike in the surroundings of Chugchilan.

Day 4: After breakfast we start today going down into the canyon. After 200m we start to walk up slowly for about 5 hours until we reach the crater rim of Quilotoa. From here you can enjoy the great views and changing colors of the water. We will sleep at Cabanas Quilotoa, a basic hostal.

Day 5: Today we hike to the village of Tigua, in around 6 hours. We are going into another canyon and then slowly back-up towards the hacienda Tigua, the end of our 5 day trek. Here we will enjoy a home made lunch and our car will be waiting to bring you back to Latacunga from where you can continue your travels.

Price: $480,00 per person, minimum of 2 people.
Included: all transport from and back to Latacunga, English speaking guide,  1 night in Hostal Llullu Llama, 2 nights in Hostal Mama Hilda and 1 night in Cabañas Quilotoa. 4 x box lunch, 4 x dinner, 4 x breakfast, 1 home made lunch at Posada de Tigua.
Not included: entrance fee Quilotoa reserve ($2,00), drinks and tips.
