Rucu Pichincha

The Rucu Pichincha is an extinct volcano, this volcano has two craters, one within the other, which are the result of its eruptions, is the closest volcano to the city of Quito, south of Pichincha, there is also a volcanic ridge called Unguí. On March 22, 1589, its last great eruption took place, leaving the city of Quito almost destroyed.

Departure from Quito at 8:00 a.m. in the morning to the Quito cable car station, where we will make the ascent to the base of the RUCU PICHINCHA volcano at 4100 m (13,451 ft.) where we will begin the trek to the summit of the RUCU PICHINCHA volcano. 4698 m (15,413) depending on weather conditions.
